What Synkbay does
Built natively in Swift with Apple's frameworks. Familiar shortcuts, Open and Save panels, Show in Finder, and light and dark appearance, the way a Mac app should work.
Drag between Android and Finder
- Drag from Finder to the phone, or use Upload (⌘U).
- Drag from Synkbay to Finder, the desktop, or any app that takes files. The download starts when you drop, and lands right there.
- Whole folders copy with everything in them, in both directions.
- Files over 4 GB are fine, and downloads keep their dates from the phone.
- Name clashes get a new name, such as photo (1).jpg, instead of overwriting.
Browse quickly
- Internal storage and SD cards, side by side.
- List view with sortable columns, or icon view with photo and video thumbnails.
- Finder's own folder and file icons, so the phone's folders take the same colour as the folders on your Mac.
- Search the current folder or every folder inside it.
- New folder, rename and delete on the phone, from the toolbar or a right-click. Delete always asks first.
- Double-click a file to open it on the Mac, or press Space to preview it with Quick Look.
Recovers on its own
- Waits in the menu bar and opens by itself when you connect a phone and choose File transfer. The icon turns colour when the phone is ready.
- Names the app that's holding the phone, offers to quit it, and connects once the phone is free.
- Waits while the phone is locked, and connects as soon as you unlock it.
- Reconnects when the phone is plugged back in, and returns to the phone you were using.
- Lets go of the phone while its window is closed, so other apps can use it.
- With Pro, running and waiting transfers continue after a reconnect. A partly uploaded file is replaced, and one that arrived complete is marked done.
Safe to cancel, safe to unplug
- Cancel any transfer without leaving a mess. A download only takes its real name once it's complete, and a cancelled upload's partial file is removed from the phone.
- The connection keeps working after a cancel, so you can carry straight on.
- Eject (⌘E) closes the connection and releases the phone, so it's safe to remove and other apps can use it. If anything is still copying, Synkbay asks first.
Every transfer in view
- Progress, speed and time left for each file, with cancel, retry and Show in Finder.
- A transfer history for each phone, kept between launches: today's, this week's, this month's or all.
- The battery level of each phone in the sidebar.
- Light, dark, or matching your Mac.
Pro
Photo Sync and folder sync
- Photo Sync copies new photos and videos from the camera folders to a folder on your Mac, skipping ones it already copied.
- Sync folders keep a phone folder and a Mac folder in step, one way, in the direction you choose, when the phone connects or when you click Sync Now.
- Nothing is ever deleted, and a changed file on the phone is replaced only once the new copy is complete.
A Mac companion for each phone
- Synkbay recognises each phone, and keeps its own transfer history and sync folders.
- Give a phone a nickname, and see its model, serial number, firmware and storage in Phone Info.
- Open the folder you were last in when a phone connects.
- With Pro, use several phones at once, each in its own window if you like.
- Try each Pro feature 3 times for free, whenever you first need it.
